Travel vaccination service
Advice
You will need to have completed and returned your travel vaccination form to the practice before booking the appointment. This should ideally be 8 weeks before you travel.
Travel vaccination form (word doc)
Once we have received the form and this has been checked by the practice nurse you can then book an appointment, which should be at least 6 weeks or more before travelling. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine.
Which travel vaccines are free?
The following travel vaccines are available free on the NHS, and these are the only ones that we currently provide:
- polio (given as a combined diphtheria/tetanus/polio jab)
- typhoid
- hepatitis A
- cholera
These vaccines are free because they protect against diseases thought to represent the greatest risk to public health if they were brought into the country.
